Kitchen Trends: Our predictions for 2022

Statement Stone

This will be one of the biggest trends in kitchens this year. Though certainly not a new concept, this gorgeous design detail utilizing bold patterns in new materials provides a welcome return of a kitchen classic. Statement Stone. We will be using Neolith and Dekton in our designs. These brand utilize sintered stone to create an incredibly durable product with gorgeous and natural patterns that are swoon worthy.

Stone Ledges and Freestanding Hoods

These beautifully integrated stone ledges are popping up everywhere, and we are not sad about it. They can vary from a diminutive depth to hold art and small accessories to a more generous depth to hold plates and other kitchen necessities like oils and spices. Either way, we are absolutely in love.

A Return to Warmth

2022 will bring a return to warmth in the kitchen and the entire home. These last few years have created the yearning for a place of calm and comfort in the home that is more necessary than ever. Warm tones in cabinets, countertops and furnishings are making the ultimate come back with a brand new spin. Stained cabinets with an updated feel, stones with warmer palettes and furnishings that follow suit.

Mixed Metals …Still

The mixing of metals continues this year and it just keeps getting better. Brands have leaped on board to meet demand of this trend and the result is beautiful. Lighting, hardware and plumbing, with all of the finishing the combinations are limitless. These options make it easier than ever to strike the perfect balance with Mixed Metals in the kitchen.

Sculptural, Eye-catching Plumbing

Plumbing is getting a revamp all its own. With more detail, color and texture than ever, it has become it’s own little focal point in the kitchen. Some of our favorite details are handles with texture and contrasting color as seen the #Brizo faucet above, and handles with applied stone. Unique shapes and configurations have us taking a second look at these beautiful fixtures.

Last, but ever so important, Lighting

Lighting is taking a new direction. Along with mixed metals we are seeing a big trend towards woven lighting. These woven styles aren’t just for the beach, they work in a surprising variety of designs and are becoming a quick favorite for us. These woven styles are going to be making a big design presence this year.
